This body of work, a series of diptychs entitled Habitat, explores questions of presence and absence of human element in our living environments. I was researching visually how perception of our familiar spaces changes with/without introduction of some human presence in the frame, whether it is a person or just a hand or a shadow. I invite viewers to experience both situations and analyze the difference in feelings they get out of every photograph. For this series I chose to work with an 80s era Soviet twin lens reflex camera, the Lubitel 166B.
